St. Patrick's Day falls on March 17, and Dallas Farmers Market is getting there early. The weekend of March 13–14 brings Irish dance, green everything, and a Shed bursting with spring color that doesn't need to pretend it's seasonal.
Irish Dance at Pearl Street Plaza
Shandon-O'Regan Irish Dance Academy and McLane Irish Dance Academy perform at Pearl Street Plaza on Saturday. Shandon-O'Regan goes at 11am and 1pm; McLane takes the 12pm and 2pm slots. If you haven't seen competitive Irish step dancing up close, this is a good opportunity — the footwork is worth stopping for.
For the Kids
A clover potting station runs both days at the Information Booth area — kids can pot a four-leaf clover plant to take home while supplies last. Saturday also features a St. Patrick's Day scavenger hunt through The Shed and Pearl Street Plaza, with golden chocolate coin prizes.
"The Shed doesn't need green dye — it's already every shade of spring."
Hemingway Hill Farm Tulip Tour
Hemingway Hill Farm has a Saturday morning tulip walk at 10am — $25 per person, including a fresh-cut tulip bunch to take home. This is a walk through their weekly display at The Shed rather than a farm visit, but the variety is impressive. Book at the Information Booth.
What Else Is in Season
Spring is the best time to explore the produce section of The Shed. Look for green onions, spring peas, spinach, arugula, fresh herbs, and the season's first strawberries from Texas farms. The flower vendors are also running at full tilt — great weekend for a bunch.
Plan Your Visit
St. Patrick's Day weekend is one of The Shed's busier Saturdays. Arrive before 10am for the best selection of produce and plant starts. Parking along Harwood and Park Ave fills up by 10:30am — the Pearl/Main Street DART stop is a 5-minute walk.
The Shed is open Saturdays 8am–5pm and Sundays 10am–5pm. All events at Pearl Street Plaza are free unless otherwise noted.
