Easter weekend at Dallas Farmers Market is the market at its most generous. The Shed is running spring's best produce, the Market Building has its Easter brunch menus up, and Pearl Street Plaza has a petting zoo, an Easter Bunny, and Ukrainian folk dancers. Not a combination you'll find anywhere else. Come for the eggs, stay for the brisket.

Photos with the Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny is set up at the Information Booth Saturday and Sunday, 10am–1pm both days. Free photos — bring your own camera or use the market's. The line moves fast. Kids, adults, and dogs (leashed) are all welcome in the photo.

Country Critters Petting Zoo

Country Critters brings baby lambs, chicks, rabbits, miniature horses, and a very patient goat to Pearl Street Plaza Saturday and Sunday. Free to visit, free to pet. One of those things that's technically for kids but everyone enjoys. Open 10am–3pm both days.

"Easter at the market is the kind of morning that becomes a family tradition. The Shed, the Bunny, the zoo, and brisket before noon — that's a Saturday."

Zorya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble

Zorya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble performs at Pearl Street Plaza on Saturday at 11am and 1pm, Sunday at noon. Zorya has performed at DFM regularly; their Easter program features folk dances from Ukrainian spring traditions, including dances associated with the Pysanka egg-decorating celebration. Free to watch.

Easter Brunch at The Market Building

The Market Building restaurants have Easter weekend menus. The standout this year is Hurtado Barbecue's Blueberry Burnt End French Toast — available Saturday and Sunday brunch hours (10am–2pm) while supplies last. It's exactly what it sounds like.

What's in The Shed for Easter

The Shed has spring produce suited to Easter brunch: strawberries, spring herbs, sweet onions, asparagus (when available), and fresh-cut flower bunches from local growers. Look for Easter bread from the specialty food vendors and grab extra strawberries — the French toast isn't the only thing they're good in.

Easter Egg Hunt Tip

DFM doesn't run a formal egg hunt (liability — it's a working market), but the Information Booth has Easter activity packets for kids with a scavenger hunt through The Shed. Find the items on the list and turn it in for a small prize. Works well with 5–10 year olds.

The Shed is open Saturdays 8am–5pm and Sundays 10am–5pm. The Market Building is open daily 10am–7pm. All Pearl Street Plaza programming is free.
